- I have a ZOOM 14.4 internal faxmodem that initially didin't work, and
- after over $150 worth of phone bills to Boston, they concluded the
- hardware was defective. I had to exchange it and now I have a faxmodem
- that sometimes connects the modem on the second try, sometimes it takes
- three or four. I get call failed try again after it dials, sometimes
- before it dials. It's on com4IRQ3.
-
- A week ago, the fax stopped functioning. It also would connect after
- the second try. Now it won't send. It fails and gives me a NO CARRIER
- message.
-
- I'm on Windows 3.11, using WinFax and Comit.
-
- Does anyone know how I go about finding whether
- 1: I have another defective piece of Zoom hardware? or
- 2: Com Port conflicts that suddenly and fatally arose? or
- 3: Software glitches?
-
- I cannot see the point of spending another $150 on phone calls to Zoom.
- They'll tell me to keep trying every configuration possible, after
- which they will say, gosh, we don't know what it is. Maybe the
- equipment is defective [again].
-
- Again, if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be most
- grateful.
